Munchkin Card Game

This is a stand-alone card game. It was developed by Steve Jackson, and is meant to be somewhat like playing a fantasy-themed RPG (role playing game). If you're wondering which game, that would be Dungeons and Dragons. You might even say a spoof sort of game, since it's full of silliness and fun.

It for 3 to 8 players, and takes about 60 minutes to play.

You need 1,000 gold pieces to equal one level.

You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. And what magic items. Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon.

--- First, it is overall a fun game. The cards are humorous and well thought out. The game is simple, easy to pick up, and can last quite some time.

--- The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that I don't see how I could have figured out to play it in one sitting without having a half-dozen experienced players sitting around me, nudging me along and telling me when to steal from someone else at the table. It was awesome.

--- If you plan to play with more than 3 people I highly suggest you get at least one expansion, Munchkin 3: Clerical Errors, is an excellent choice. It adds a new class and race and a bunch more cards. I feel like running out of cards and having to reshuffle the deck takes some of the spice and excitement out of the game.
