Shopping For Gogos Crazy Bones - 3 Mistakes To Avoid
by Chloe Alice Wilson
If you want to buy a gift for a child aged 3 and over, that is so popular they are bound to love it, look no further than Gogos Crazy Bones. This inexpensive school yard craze of throwing and catching little plastic figures is catching on like wild fire. In this article I will cover a few points to be aware of so as to avoid buying the wrong things.
Not knowing what you are buying
Gogos Crazy Bones are a range of hundreds and hundreds of colourful, little plastic figures that make up a mini game whose origins date back many years. Each figure has a unique face and name. Children love them because they can collect many of them, compare and swap them with their friends and play a number of games with them. As parents you are on the lookout for little coloured packets typically found in your newsagent or online. Each packet contains either two or three Gogos along with some stickers or trading cards. They are nicely priced at approximately £1 per packet. The trouble is you need quite a few packets to make the game worthwhile and as you cannot see what is inside the packet until you have bought it, you may end up with duplicates.
Not buying the latest range
Since this toy was released there have been four series filling up toy shop shelves. The first series was red, then yellow, then green and now blue. The fourth series is called Power and unless your child specifically asks for one of the older sets, you had better stick with the most recent offering. Half of the Gogos in these packets have a brand new metallic sheen. If your child has had older series of Gogos then you had better pre warn them that the new series only has two Gogos and two cards in. The old series had three Gogos and some stickers so it is best to tell them to avoid disappointment. If you are new to Gogos and are about to embark on a shopping trip for series 4 packets, you may be better off looking for the starter pack. This includes two of the sealed packets, an album for storing the trading cards and a game guide so your child can get playing straight away.
Not buying the necessary add ons
When you are tripping over 20 or 30 Gogos on your living room floor you will realise that storage of these little figures is a necessity. There are two options open to you. Firstly there is a metal tin available that is nice and sturdy and holds many of the toys. It also comes with 10 of its own that are only available in the tin so are likely to be quite rare in the school playground. If the tin is too big for you, there is also a bag. This comes with one packet of Gogos and will hold about 30 of them. This is ideal for carrying around to school or out on trips. There are also sticker albums or handbooks available quite cheaply to accompany the toys. These are useful as they give facts on all of the characters, details of how to play the games and have other fun stuff to do.
So do not be fooled into thinking any Gogos packet will do, or even worse only one packet will do. A selection of these funny little characters is the order of the day.
